Every earthquake shown on this site (date and time, location, depth, magnitude, status and description) was determined and published by the Instituto de Geociencias, Universidad de Panamá (IGC-UP), its author and owner. This site collects them from the institute's public page every minute and keeps them as a catalog; it does not alter them and claims no rights over them. Events marked USGS come from the U.S. Geological Survey (public domain) and only fill gaps; those marked OVSICORI or another network come from the EMSC-CSEM SeismicPortal (CC BY 4.0), which gathers what the region's networks publish, such as OVSICORI, Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica. They too only fill gaps, and their distance to a town is computed by this site.
Tsunami messages are those of the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (US National Weather Service, public domain), written for national authorities; in Panamá, SINAPROC decides the level of alert. Official notices are titles and links from SINAPROC and the Ministerio de Obras Públicas, shown as published by them.
If you reuse the data, credit the Instituto de Geociencias, Universidad de Panamá as the source and respect any conditions it sets. For official or scientific use, go to the institute directly: its catalog is the reference.
The compilation (data.json) is offered as is, without warranty, for information and non-commercial use, with attribution to IGC-UP and to this site. It is not an early-warning system and does not replace official notices from SINAPROC.
